Oxford University welcomes UC President, Ignacio Sánchez
President Sánchez will serve on the Academic Advisory Council of Oxford University's Blavatnik School of Government. It is also a recognition for UC as a top university in Latin America in education and the creation of new knowledge.

The University of Oxford sent a letter to President Ignacio Sánchez inviting him to join the Academic Advisory Board of the British institution's School of Government.
The board comprises 12 deans from different universities around the world, who offer advice on academic activities and exchange experiences towards future collaboration.
The President's participation on this board will open exchange opportunities with the UC School of Government and joint projects and research between our institution and the University of Oxford.
According to President Sánchez, "being appointed to be part of this Academic Advisory Board of Oxford University's Blavatnik School of Government is an excellent recognition of the positioning of our university in the Latin American community, in the areas of education and creation of new knowledge."
"It is mainly an acknowledgment of our presence and contribution to the country and the region in different areas of great interest to society. These contributions have been enhanced and highlighted during this pandemic. The role and commitment of universities to the community have become more significant."
This appointment is also an excellent opportunity to interact with outstanding deans and faculties from the world's leading universities.
"We have a lot to learn from and contribute to the Blavatnik School of Government, which is an international leader. It opens exchange opportunities with our UC School of Government, which has experienced significant growth and positioning in our country. Being able to build bridges and work together is a challenge for the coming years," said President Ignacio Sánchez.
The director of UC School of Government, Osvaldo Larrañaga, also pointed out that Blavatnik is one of the world's most excellent Schools of Government.
"This appointment is a huge recognition for UC and President Sánchez. It is also an opportunity to establish a collaborative relationship with the UC School of Government. In the few years that it has been running, this school has positioned itself as a national role model in the study and teaching of public policy," he said.
The board is scheduled to have its next virtual meeting on June 23. It will be the first time President Ignacio Sánchez participates.

The Blavatnik School of Government was created in 2010 as a department committed to improving government and public policymaking worldwide.
It is focused on teaching current and future leaders. It provides an education that combines deep expertise with practical skills, equipping individuals to tackle this century's most pressing policy challenges.
Professor Ngaire Woods, Dean of the School, has shown great interest in strengthening ties and relations with Chile and learning about the experiences of universities facing the current challenges of cooperation and supporting governments during the pandemic.
